Hello Connecting GTA — A Little About Me and Why I Joined

Entrepreneur, technologist and community builder John Meloche introduces himself to Connecting GTA and shares why he joined, what he hopes to contribute, and the relationships he hopes to build.

I’m John Meloche, founder and CEO of Melo Technology, and I’m pleased to be joining the Connecting GTA community.

I was introduced to Connecting GTA through getting to know the people involved and seeing firsthand the kind of community they are building. What stood out to me was that this isn’t simply another networking organization built around exchanging business cards. There is a genuine emphasis on relationships, collaboration, supporting one another, and bringing together people from different industries, backgrounds and communities across the GTA.

That really resonates with me.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for nearly two decades and founded Melo Technology in 2009. Today, we help businesses with telecommunications, cloud technology, AI and automation, software development, web services, digital marketing and other technology solutions. Building a business over that many years has taught me that technology matters, but relationships matter even more.

I also Pickering home. It’s where my wife and I are raising our family, where I my business, and where I’ve become deeply involved in the community. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet an incredible range of business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders and residents. Those experiences have reinforced something I’ve believed for a long time: some of the best opportunities come from simply getting good people into the same room.

That’s a big part of why I joined Connecting GTA.

Of course, I hope membership introduces me to new people and creates opportunities for Melo Technology. I’m a business owner — I’d be lying if I said business development wasn’t part of the equation. But I’m equally interested in what I can contribute.

I want to meet entrepreneurs I can learn from. I want to hear about what others are building and the challenges they’re trying to solve. I want to find opportunities to connect people within my own network who should know one another. And where my experience in technology, telecommunications, AI, business operations or entrepreneurship can be useful to another member, I’m happy to share it.

After almost two decades in business, I’ve learned that the strongest professional relationships rarely begin with a sales pitch. They begin with a conversation.

That’s what I’m hoping to find here: good conversations, genuine relationships, new perspectives, opportunities to collaborate and, hopefully, some new friendships along the way.

I’m looking forward to getting to know the Connecting GTA membership and becoming an active part of the community.

If we haven’t met yet, please come introduce yourself. I’d genuinely like to hear your story and learn what you’re working on.
